Bereavement Counselling Service

Sacred Heart Bereavement Service is a free service providing counselling, support and education to the St Vincent’s Campus and the area covered by South East Sydney Local Health District.

Bereavement is a very individual process and we each react differently to loss. Family and friends may provide support, however for some who are grieving it can also be helpful to talk to a specialist counsellor.

For those who wish to seek counselling, you can receive assistance and emotional support from trained staff.

Counselling is available and free of charge for those bereaved in the last 5 years where:

The death occurred within the St Vincent’s Campus or at home and the family was supported by the Palliative Care team.

or

The bereaved person lives in the area covered by South East Sydney Local Health District.

or

The bereaved person is a staff member or volunteer of the St Vincent’s Campus.
