Endocrinology
The SVHS Endocrinology and Diabetes Department adopted the NSW State-wide Referral criteria for selected conditions. Any referrals require the minimum clinical information to enable safe, timely and effective triage. Clinical Prioritisation Criteria are applied to determine how quickly the patient should be seen.

The St Vincent’s Department of Endocrinology are a committed team of medical specialists, nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff who aim to provide comprehensive endocrine care to people within the Hospital and greater community.
The Department provides inpatient care and conducts subspecialty outpatient clinics, including the Bone and Calcium clinic, the Diabetes Clinic, the general Endocrine Clinic (pituitary, thyroid and adrenal disorders) and the Metabolic Nutrition (Obesity) Clinic.
In addition, we provide specialist outpatient diabetes care in the multidisciplinary specialist Diabetes Service located on Level 4 of the Garvan Institute.
We also perform specialised endocrine tests in the Endocrine Testing Unit at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
Research
All members of the Department have conjoint appointments at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the University of NSW. All staff members are also actively involved in clinical endocrine research. From time-to-time we recruit volunteers for research studies. To obtain further information about current studies visit the clinical trials page.
