Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service

St Vincent’s Hospital Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Service is committed to providing compassionate, high quality, evidence-based and multidisciplinary care to patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. As leaders in research and innovation, we seek to help advance our understanding of IBD. We bring the latest monitoring tools and therapies to our patients.

Inflammatory bowel disease encompasses both ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. These are chronic life-long conditions that cause damage to the intestine. They can be debilitating diseases with long term disability. With expert care it is possible for most patients to be completely well and lead a normal life.

Our team of medical specialists, nurses, pharmacist and dietitian have a specialised interest in the management of IBD. Our services include face-to-face and telehealth clinics, bowel ultrasound and colonoscopy. We also run clinical trials.

On this webpage you will find information about our team, our clinic and the referral process. There is also patient information resources and useful links. We aim to update the webpage with the latest developments in our clinic and the field as a whole including new therapies and research.
