Our RAP Events Committee dedicates itself to reconciliation and equity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community, through hosting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander events that are both educational and celebratory. The aim is to ensure that each event both celebrates the cultures and beliefs of our First Australians as well as promoting a culturally safe, supporting and welcoming environment for our Aboriginal staff, patients and guests. Our campus wide celebrations are done in collaboration with our colleagues at St Vincent's Private Hospital and St Vincent's Clinic, and include National Sorry Day, Close the Gap Day, Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week. Past celebrations include special guest speakers, traditional dance groups, Smoking Ceremonies, BBQ's and current music performances.
