Our Gorman Unit is a 13 bed acute inpatient unit for people seeking treatment for substance use disorder. They provide relapse prevention, withdrawal management, opioid stabilisation and pharmacotherapy. Nurses undertake comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, short-term care co-ordination and referral. Patients receive therapeutic, diversional and psychoeducational groups
Australia’s first Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-Prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit provides specialist care to patients experiencing drug or alcohol-related psychotic episodes. The purpose built unit is located within the Emergency Department, and enables people presenting to us with addiction and complex mental health issues to receive the care they need in a safe and dignified space, while still being able to draw on the expertise of the Mental Health, Clinical Pharmacology and Alcohol & Drug teams.
Rankin Court Treatment Centre is a specialised unit providing treatment and care for people experiencing opioid dependence. Rankin Court assists people with opioid dependence to improve their health and wellbeing by relieving craving and preventing withdrawal symptoms and reducing risks. We achieve this by providing medication, care coordination, and health information, based on a harm minimisation approach. Clients are offered counselling and referral where indicated
