Course overview:

Designed specifically for Registered Nurses and Allied Health professionals
working in clinical settings such as acute, chronic aged care or palliative
care, who are furthering their expertise in the care of patients with cancer
and other life threatening illnesses.

Our focus is to empower you with the knowledge and skills necessary for
the effective assessment and symptom management of patients at the end
of life. The course will guide you through the management of complex
symptoms experienced by these patients, offering insights into the
complexities of their needs.


Key topics:

This course will be delivered with and MDT approach using case studies
covering the following :

  Pain Management and assessment
  Nausea and vomiting
  Breathlessness and fatigue management
  Radiotherapy and chemotherapy
  Spinal cord compression, bowel obstruction and hypercalcemia in
cancer
  Delirium
  Challenging conversations
  Ethical decisions in the management of advanced illness
