Course overview:

The study day will provide participants with basic to intermediate knowledge of the heart and the conduction system to improve their rhythm interpretation skills and enable them to confidently care for the monitored patient. This course will focus on cardiac rhythm recognition and not 12-lead ECG interpretation.

On completion of this program,  it is expected that participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate understanding of anatomy & physiology of cardiac structure, function and conduction
• Relate cardiac conduction and anatomy to the ECG waveforms
• Demonstrate ability to use a systematic approach in interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Apply gained knowledge in recognising abnormal rhythms, patient symptoms in relation to dysrhythmias, nursing

Who should attend:

This introductory workshop to recognising cardiac rhythms is designed for nursing staff working or about to work in areas that utilise monitoring on a regular basis including ED, recovery, theatres and cardiac
wards or any nurses that are interested in learning more about cardiac rhythm interpretation. Prerequisites: Revise heart anatomy & physiology and variable cardiac rhythms.

Cancellation provided up to 5 working days before the program a full refund will be issued.
Cancellation past the 5 working days and before 24 hours prior to the program half refund will be issued.
Cancellation with 24hrs prior to the program no refund is issued.
