Farewell from Sisters Clare & Deirdre, rsc

21 Jun 2021

“To all our colleagues and friends at St Vincent’s Health Care Campus, Research Campus, St Vincent’s Clinic and St Joseph’s Health and Aged Care Campus - we bid you farewell!

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to all the staff - CEO, Administrative Staff, Doctors, Nurses, Orderlies, Researchers, Allied Health Personnel, Volunteers, Fund Raisers, Archivists, Environmental Services, Facility Services and Catering Services 25yrs of working together and building these wonderful places of care and compassion.

We stand on the shoulders of all those who have gone before us.

Together we have contributed to reading the signs of the times, the growth of the campus, the growth of all staff in bringing the vision, mission, and values to life, always focused on meeting the needs of the poor and marginalised We are all part of the golden thread that began with the arrival of our first five sisters from Ireland to Australia in 1838. We continue to make sure that thread still connects us. In the words of the poet William Stafford from his poem,

“The Way It Is”
“There’s a thread you follow,
It goes among things that change,
But IT doesn’t change….while you hold it you cannot get lost.. you don’t ever let go of the thread.”

We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Carry on your good work loving and supporting each other through all the ups and downs of life.

Our prayers remain with you”.
