Dr Shona Blair joins St Vincent's Health Innovation Precinct
30 Aug 2022
As a part of the strategic objective to position St Vincent’s Health Innovation Precinct Sydney as Australia’s leading health innovation precinct, we have welcomed Dr Shona Blair who has joined us as the Precinct’s inaugural Director.
Shona’s appointment comes just as we have recently been recognised by NSW Health as a Health Innovation Precinct. St Vincent’s Health Innovation Precinct Sydney now proudly takes its place alongside the other NSW health precincts at Camperdown, Westmead, Liverpool, Randwick, St Leonards, Wollongong and John Hunter.
Shona’s role is auspiced by St Vincent’s Hospital on behalf of the core Precinct partners of St Vincent’s Clinic, Public & Private Hospitals, the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
With a shared vision to pioneer compassionate, research-driven healthcare, Shona’s role is to lead the Precinct collaborators into the next stage of our maturity by building a shared strategic plan, leveraging more to benefit all from the partner’s existing relationships, and coordinating and deepening engagement with industry, governments and other precincts and research and health care organisations.
“It is so exciting to be here, and I feel like I have come on-board at the perfect time. The core Precinct Partners have done a tremendous amount of ground work already", Shona expressed.
“I am very happy to see so much genuine passion for the Precinct, as well as the shared belief in our huge collective potential. I plan to help us all build on our individual strengths and capabilities, and to find ways to leverage our unique attributes - enabling us further to be even more than the sum of our fantastic parts”.
