Urology

The Urology Department specialises in managing conditions of the urinary tract including cancers of the kidneys, bladder, prostate and testes.

Providing a comprehensive adult urology service for men and women, the Department has a strong focus in minimally invasive (key-hole) surgery, uro-oncology and offers state-of-the-art LASER treatment for complex kidney stones. We also perform kidney transplantations.

How do I get an appointment?
You will need a referral letter from your local doctor and contact the relevant specialist office to make an appointment.

What do I bring to my appointments (including Pre-admission clinic)?
You will need to bring a valid referral letter along with all relevant blood and urine test results including xrays and a list of medicines you are currently taking.

If I need surgery how long do I have to wait?
This depends on the clinical urgency of your condition and the available theatre times.

How will I be notified of my operation date?
You will be notified either by writing or telephone when you have been allocated an operation date by the St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney booking office.It’s important to make sure your contact details are up to date.
