The Executive Committee is the St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney’s peak executive body for issues of organisational direction and leadership, governance, quality work practices, workforce development and business and finance issues. The Executive Committee aims to provide strategic direction and review in these areas and is Chaired by St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney’s Chief Executive Officer.

Chief Executive Officer
The CEO, St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney is accountable for the overall leadership and management of St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney which comprises St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, Sacred Heart Hospice and St Joseph’s Hospital Auburn. The CEO leads St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney to deliver on its mission objectives by ensuring high quality, efficient and mission-based execution of day-to-day health service delivery, combined with a robust focus on continuous, balanced improvement.
The CEO strengthens the organisation’s values, its commitment to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and adherence to the Catholic Health Australia Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia through direct role modelling and major leadership decisions relating to strategy, policy, operational improvement and performance management.

Director of Medical Services
The Director of Medical Services is accountable for overall leadership and management of medical governance and workforce issues as well as the clinical governance function across St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney. The Director of Medical Services has responsibility for medical and clinical governance advice to the Executive Team.
Mr Phillip Broughton
Executive Officer and Manager of Corporate Governance
The Executive Officer and Manager of Corporate Governance provides operational management support to the Chief Executive Officer and coordinates projects and reviews aimed at improving the operational efficiency and performance of St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney. The Executive Officer and Manager of Corporate Governance manages policy framework, processes and systems to ensure compliance with St Vincent’s corporate governance framework.

Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Services
The Director of Finance is responsible for providing effective financial management including budget preparation, fiscal performance monitoring and the overall leadership and management of finance across St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney. This position provides professional financial services consistent with St Vincent’s Health Australia group wide financial strategy.

Director of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources is accountable for overall leadership and management of the human resources and work health and safety function across St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney. The Director of Human Resources provides professional human resource services that assists managers in conducting all operations relating to human resources and industrial relation functions including the provision of advice and support on performance management, support and intervention in disciplinary matters, advice about succession management and retention and industrial relations grievance resolution.

Director of Mission
The Director of Mission is responsible for overall management and executive leadership of mission and social justice functions across St Vincent's Health Network Sydney in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St Vincent's Health Australia, inspired by the healing ministry of Jesus and the tradition of Mary Aikenhead. The Director of Mission also has oversight of chaplaincy, pastoral, pastoral education, mission integration and volunteer services across the network.

The Director of Allied Health is responsible for the planning and development needs of the St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney Allied Health service for the fiscal, organisational, physical and human resource. The Director of Allied Health works in conjunction with key medical, nursing and support staff to provide operational and strategic direction.

Acting Director of Nursing & Acute Services
The Network Director of Nursing and Patient Care is responsible for the planning and development needs of the St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney Nursing service for the fiscal, organisational, physical and human resource. The Director of Nursing and Patient Care works in conjunction with key medical, allied health and support staff to provide operational and strategic direction and advice on patient flow.

Director of Strategy and Planning
The Director of Strategy and Planning oversees strategy, health service planning and strategic partnerships across the Network. The Director of Strategy and Planning supports the Executive team to set, and embed, strategic decisions across the organisation.
Mr Todd McEwan
Director of Acute Care Services
The Director of Acute Care Services provides effective leadership to the Acute Care Services and Support professions across the organisation. The position ensures the development and implementation of the clinical scope of practices for the relevant professional groups supported by appropriate standards and professional development strategies in consultation with other Executive Directors.
The Director of Acute Care Services is responsible for developing and implementing a framework for continuous improvement in the quality of service and practice, safeguarding high standards of care, encouraging excellence in clinical care through promotion of clinical governance and support effective patient flow, appropriate utilisation of hospital and acute care settings and development of ambulatory and integrated services.

Director of Clinical Governance
The Director provides high level expert advice to the Chief Executive on all clinical governance issues and works collaboratively with other members of the Network Executive to analyse, maintain and improve patient safety and clinical quality systems across the Network.

Executive Clinical Director
The Executive Clinical Director is responsible for the provision of independent advice on all matters relating to clinical practice. The purpose of the position is to better support local decision making and the adoption of innovation and improved models of care. The Executive Clinical Director co-chairs the Network Clinical Council with the Chief Executive Officer.
